"Family and close friends requested respect and privacy during this time of mourning," El Deber reported.
La Voz is the Mexican version of The Voice. Rosas became an incredibly popular figure on the show, finishing as the runner-up in season eight. His uncle, Alfredo Mendoza, recently spoke of his nephew at a memorial gathering, per Entertainment Now.
"We must remember him as he wanted, as a great singer, a young man who dreamed and achieved success, and who represented Santa Cruz and Bolivia," Mendoza said. "He thrilled us, and we must remember him for what he was: a great man."
No details regarding Rosas' cause of death have been made public. His family has also opted against sharing any further updates on the matter. However, Mexican media personality Marco Antelo has claimed that Rosas was a "victim of depression"
in a recent Facebook post."The death of Leo Rosas has hit me hard," Antelo wrote. "...Pay attention to your friends. The one who is sad, but also the one who laughs a lot. To the one who is silent, but also to the one who talks non-stop. It's not how much a person talks, but what he says... And if you, who are reading this, don't feel well, please don't be ashamed to ask for help. To tell someone."
Leo Rosas' Funeral Has Already Taken Place
According to Entertainment Now, Rosas' funeral took place on Feb. 16. It took place at Las Misiones Garden Park Cemetery in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia. A religious ceremony was held at the Parque Jardín Las Misiones Cemetery.
"Loved ones gathered in prayer, music, and quiet reflection to honor a life that ended far too soon," Entertainment Now reported.
The tragic loss of Rosas comes just two years after he lost his wife, Marian Montero Blanco, who was 37 years old. She died after a battle with multiple sclerosis.
Rosas' passing has led to an outpouring of love and support for his family. He was still at the start of his life and will be missed.
