Country star Lisa McHugh has some sad news to share with fans. She recently revealed she had been hospitalized for several days with a life-threatening illness.

McHugh has been battling sepsis, which is a dangerous immune response to an infection. The country star had to cancel one of her recent shows due to being in the hospital. But she promised fans that despite the health scare, she was doing much better.
"Hi everyone, I'm so sorry to say that I won't be able to perform tonight with @iamnathancarter at the @clanree_hotel, Letterkenny,"
she wrote on Facebook. "I was admitted to the hospital a couple of days ago with sepsis, but I want to reassure everyone, that, I'm in the right place and receiving the best care and treatment to help get things under control. I just need to take a little bit of time to rest and recover, but I will be absolutely fine."Country Star Hospitalized
"I'm so disappointed to miss out on what was meant to be my first live show back, but, I'm sure you'll have a fantastic night with Nathan as always!" she added. "I can't wait to see you all very soon. Thank you for all your continued support and understanding - it truly means the world. Looks like my New Year is staring in March instead."
A native of Glasgow, Scotland, McHugh made a splash on both sides of the pond. In 2012, she performed at the Grand Ole Opry. She's also released seven studio albums so far in her career. Fans were understanding of the country star and sent their thoughts and prayers.
One wrote, "Awww you are going through so much. And now this it's really not fair and you are a real fighter and always have a smile. hope you make a full recovery very soon."
Another commented, "Mind yourself Lisa,I had sepsis,like yourself it was got in time. Thank God. Rest up and don't worry about the gig,plenty of time again for that xx."
