What words describe Luke Bryan? Fun, honest, talented, and likable are a good start. The country music star and American Idol judge has had a full-tilt professional career going for a long time. But he seems to be in a new, more relaxed and contemplative stage of his life now.

Bryan is deciding what really makes him happy. Maybe it isn't having a number 1 record or a sold-out concert, although those are clearly desirable goals. It could mean just emphasizing what he feels is most emotionally and personally rewarding, rather than strictly pursuing commercial success. And Bryan is of course absorbed in being a good dad and role model for his beloved children.
Bryan Likes To Be Authentic
He straightforwardly encapsulated his personal philosophy to People recently. "I want to keep pushing myself to be a better singer and a better musician and just make sure from here on out, the rest of my life, when I'm on stage, it's on my terms and I'm having fun. I don't want to be going to a photo shoot and complaining about it. I want to try to make sure I'm enjoying every aspect of my career because, thank God, that's the work I put in to get to this point, to just enjoy the back half of the career."
Family Is the Bedrock of His Life
Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline have two teenage boys of their own, Tate and Bo. The Bryans also adopted the three children of his late sister and brother-in-law. Their names are Kris, Tilden, and Jordan. Speaking of his two sons, Bryan shared, "They've grown up in this lifestyle, so when I get off the road, they really don't care where Dad's been. They want to go hang with Dad, go get in the woods or do stuff like that, and that keeps me grounded."
It sounds like Bryan can put aside the glamorous trappings of his turbocharged career as a singer and just be Dad. In other words, a regular guy who is a very proud husband and a father. "I just wake up, put my pants on and get to work. And growing up on a farm and [with] family, kind of have that working mentality. But what grounds me is my family, my boys. Going back home to the farm, and fishing, and hunting, and golfing and taking the family on all that stuff."
He Knows What He Wants
Sometimes people get more mellow later in life. What they deem worth chasing may not be what they wanted to go after years ago. At 49, enjoyment and satisfaction with who he is and what he does appear to be Bryan's main goals. Luke Bryan has his priorities definitely in order.
He said per the outlet, "I want to keep pushing myself to be a better singer and a better musician and just make sure from here on out, the rest of my life, when I'm on stage, it's on my terms and I'm having fun. I don't want to be going to a photo shoot and complaining about it. I want to try to make sure I'm enjoying every aspect of my career because, thank God, that's the work I put in to get to this point, to just enjoy the back half of the career."
