The 90-year-old Michigan native broke records for the longest career as a female language teacher. Beverly Hannett-Price has been an English Teacher at Detroit County Day School for more than 67 years. The school gathered together on February 2 to suprise the 90-year-old with the award.

"Students, faculty and invited guests, I am thrilled to announce the real reason we are all here today. Mrs. Hannett-Price has earned a place in the Guinness Book of World Records," a school staff member said in a

video.

The teacher was understandably shocked to have been acknowledged for her long and historic career in the classroom.

"Surprised? am floored!" She said. "I have no plans for retirement - I  love this school. I love teaching."

Teacher Earns Record

I guess it's true what they say, find something that you love to do and you'll never work a day in your life. Hannett-Price has been a teacher for literally thousands of students. That also includes actor Courney B. Vance. The actor also flew back to his former high school to be their for her.

"She really taught me how to write and to put wonderful thoughts together, and because of that, we've stayed in touch," Courtney B. Vance said at the event. In addition to Vance, the teacher's own granddaughter also attended the event.

"Every time we go out, we meet someone that she has impacted, and it's almost inspired me to become someone that can make that much of an impact everywhere you go," she said.

Of course the teacher used the vent to impart a little bit of wisdom to us all.

"You be the best version of yourself you can possibly be because there will never be another you," she said. "Be accepting — you can meet the most wonderful people ... open your mind to the possibility."
