Ella Langley Asks Fans To Help Her Take “Choosin’ Texas” to No. 1 “For Women” and “Country Music”

Ella Langley is so close to having a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. She's asking fans to help her get there.

As of today, February 7, 2026, Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas", which took the country scene by storm in October 2025, sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Currently, the song vies for the No. 1 spot with Harry Styles' "Aperature". Only a few women in country music have achieved the No. 1 milestone. This list includes but is not limited to Dolly Parton, Carrie Underwood, and Beyoncé with "Texas Hold Em".

On her Instagram on Thursday, Langley asked fans to help her with that extra push to the top of the Billboard mountain. "I'm being told we're neck and neck on getting the #1 and if we have one last push on iTunes, we might make country music history!" she explained. "Less than 10 women in country music have gotten a #1 on Billboard."

She then accompanied a picture of her and Miranda Lambert on her story. "I know we can do it," she shared. "Let's do it for women & let's do it for country music ??."

The list of female country artists who have been stuck at No. 2, like Ella, is actually rather extensive. In 1998, Shania Twain's "You're Still the One" was at No. 2 for 9 whole weeks. Faith Hill also had a No. 2 hit with her song "Breathe", even though she was able to achieve the No. 1 song of the year overall in 2000.

Getting a No. 1 on Billboard for a female in country music is much harder than you would think.

Ella Langley Shares That Miranda Lambert Helped Produce Her Album

Ella Langley famously wrote "Choosin' Texas" on a writer's retreat with Miranda Lambert, who has been known to be quite the mentor to Ella over the years. In January, Langley also announced her sophomore album, Dandelion, on which Lambert is acting as a co-producer.

"What's cool about this song is that I got to write it with one of my heroes, Ms. Miranda Lambert," she shared before performing "Choosin' Texas" at the Ryman. "I just had this weird feeling that one day I'd get advice from her, and it's crazy. She's actually the executive producer of my next record, so she's a big part of it. But what really started that was writing this song [Choosin' Texas]."

"Y'all can't act like all my dreams aren't coming true right now cause it feels that way. It really does, it really does."

Ella's sophomore album, Dandelion, drops on April 9.
