"According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, the feds say a Los Angeles man named Derrick Callella texted Nancy's daughter Annie and her son-in-law Tommaso Cioni, 'Did you get the bitcoin we're waiting on our end for the transaction? '" TMZ reported.

The ransom note in question was reportedly posted to TMZ, who have since provided it to the local authorities. The ransom note is supposed to have set two deadlines.

Callella is alleged to have sent two text messages to the family. It is believed that he obtained Guthrie's information via a nefarious website online and had been following the details regarding Nancy's disappearance.

As reported by TMZ, Called is being charged with two federal crimes. The first charge is of intent to transmit a demand for ransom. The second charge is making a phone call without disclosing identity to abuse, threaten, or harass any specific person.
