In one of the posts, shared by a Facebook account labeled Rhythm Republic two days ago, it shares a story that the "I'm the Problem" artist donated his performance earnings to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

"BREAKING: Morgan Wallen has reportedly donated his entire earnings from yesterday's performance — $514,000 — to ICE," it reads. "In a statement that's lighting up social media, Wallen said, 'America needs secure borders. ICE plays a critical role in keeping our communities safe and deserves full support.'"

It adds, "The move is drawing massive attention as a rare and bold stance from a country music superstar on immigration and national security — and it has his fanbase buzzing."

So, did Wallen donate more than half a million dollars to ICE? We have the facts below.

Why Would Morgan Wallen Donate to ICE?

The post comes at a time when ICE is under considerable scrutiny over its use of force during its immigration operations. It has also played a role in the shootings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti of Minneapolis.

The operations have sparked nationwide protests and confrontations between citizens and federal officials.

Are the Claims About Morgan Wallen True?

Fans reached out to the website Snopes to fact-check the claim that Wallen made a donation to ICE.

The outlet asked Wallen's press contact about the claim and has not heard back. It also checked the links to the WordPress blogs in the posts' comments.

While the press is made aware of the donations the Morgan Wallen Foundation makes through press releases, no reputable entertainment publications have reported anything about any contributions Wallen has made to ICE.

Snopes also scoured the top search engines for reports or statements and found nothing. It also checked Wallen's social media accounts for anything related to the claim and found no results.

The outlet shared that these claims are intended to generate revenue from advertising on the affiliated WordPress blogs and social media platforms. A similar post shared that Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards made a donation in the exact amount to ICE. That has also been proven false.
