The event has now been reported as a crime scene, according to NBC News.

Guthrie's mother was last seen on Saturday around 9:30 in the evening. She was near her home, where she lives alone, outside of Tucson, Arizona.

Prima County Sheriff Nanos previously shared in a press conference that Guthrie was taken "possibly in the middle of the night." Now, authorities have confirmed that what happened appears to be an abduction, according to a new TODAY show report.

Law enforcement sources also told the Los Angeles Times this morning that blood and signs of forced entry were discovered at Nancy's home. Nancy is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. She "is not in good physical health," according to Sheriff Chris Nanos of Prima County, but she is also of "sound mind."

He also explained that Nancy takes a daily medication. This could prove to be "fatal" if she is without it for too long.

Law officials have been reviewing video footage. After reporting Nancy missing on Sunday, her family sought the help of a rescue team. This included trained personnel, drones, an airplane, a helicopter, volunteers, and K9 dogs. The FBI is also on the case.

Savannah Guthrie Asks Followers for Help

The TODAY show shared a statement from Savannah Guthrie in a recent report.

"On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support," Guthrie shared. "Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom." The statement continued, "We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department at: 520-351-4900."

Nanos confirmed this morning that DNA samples were also taken from Nancy's home. "We took some samples that we hope will have enough of a DNA profile," he told NBC. "That will give us some identification as to what we're looking at."

Savannah wrote in an Instagram post on February 2, further asking her followers for prayers.

"Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant," she wrote. "Raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment."

"This is just really sad for our community," Sheriff Nanos said. "Savannah is family to us. She's a big part of this community. Her entire family is devastated. And you know, this just doesn't happen in Tucson."
