Fans may have noticed that Today host Savannah Guthrie was absent from her usual spot on the popular morning talk show on Monday. The news anchor is experiencing a personal crisis. Her 84-year-old mom, Nancy Guthrie, is missing in Arizona.

Guthrie released a statement about the incident. In the statement, she asked for prayers and messages of support as the search for her mother continues.
"On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support," she wrote. "Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department at 520-351-4900."
At this time, we don't have all the details. But the Pima County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on Saturday night. Her family reported her missing the following day. Authorities described her as being in "not of good physical health."
Savannah Guthrie Searches For Mom
A spokesperson for the Guthrie family also told the New York Post, "We can confirm this is a missing persons case, and the family is working closely with local law enforcement. If anyone has any information, please contact the Pima County Sheriff's Department at 520-351-4900. The family is grateful for the outreach, thoughts, and prayers."
In a press conference, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared more details on the disappearance. A family member called emergency services and reported Nancy missing over the weekend. Detectives have combed the house in search of signs of the missing woman.
"We've pretty much thrown everything at this as we can," Nanos said. "I don't need to tell you, this is very concerning to us; we don't typically get the sheriff out on a scene like this, but it is very concerning."
He described Nancy as a "vulnerable person." Fans of Today may remember Nancy. She made several guest appearances alongside her daughter, Savannah, over the years. The disappearance comes after Savannah recently had vocal cord surgery. The TV personality was out for several weeks and had just returned on January 23.
"I'm so grateful to all of you at this place and my bosses at NBC, who have been nothing but supportive. To take three weeks off is a big, big deal," she said. "I'm so grateful to be back, and I'm ready to go."
