Per a report by TMZ, the death of Charity Pierce yesterday, who appeared on the show during its third season, was confirmed by a family source and her daughter, Charly Jo, on Facebook.

Charity had been suffering from several ongoing medical conditions over the last several months, including lymphedema and fluid buildup in her lungs, causing her to be in hospice.

While sources say that the fluid backup may have contributed to her death, no official cause of death has been released.

"Almost all immediate family knows so, my mom passed away today. She's up with her momma and brother and sister and she's finally at peace," wrote Charly Jo. "I hope you know how much I love you and how grateful I was to be by your side while you took your last breath."

Charity Pierce Once Weighed 800 Pounds

Charity had one of the most memorable stories on My 600-lb Life. In addition to once weighing 800 pounds, she was battling health complications and emotional trauma. She was also housebound and had trouble getting around.

She eventually sought professional help, promising to walk down the aisle with her fiancé, Tony Sauer.

"I would rather die than live this way," she said.

The star worked to change her lifestyle. She began exercising daily. She also reduced her caloric intake, going from 10,000 calories daily to 1,200.

Despite her significant weight loss, losing over 282 pounds in a year, she had numerous health setbacks. She developed an infection after having a procedure to have 38 pounds of excess skin removed. She had to have emergency surgery to clear it.

However, she eventually rebuilt her relationships with Charly Jo and other family members.

Pierce Later Returned to "My 600-lb Life"

Charity came back to My 600-lb Life for a "Where Are They Now?" episode.

Over the past few years, the reality star faced some medical issues. She was diagnosed with kidney cancer, which required surgery to treat.
