Recently, Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to promote the upcoming season of American Idol. While the episode got many people excited about season 24, one person chose not to tune in. That would be actress Nancy Lee Grahn.

In addition to starring on ABC's General Hospital, Grahn has also acted as a political activist, often voicing her opinion on reproductive rights, the LGBTQ+ community, and Donald Trump. This month, on Threads, Grahn called Trump a "malignant ghoul with a rotted soul," making a point to criticize his administration.
If you've been following Carrie Underwood, you'll know that around this time last year, the singer performed at Trump's inauguration. After seeing the singer on her screen this week, Grahn was quick to share her thoughts on the social media platform.
"See ya next week @jimmykimmel," she wrote. "I refuse to even look at @carrieunderwood." She later clarified that it's really not Jimmy Kimmel that she has a problem with. More so, she just doesn't want to see Carrie Underwood on her screen.
"I simply said I would watch him next week because I didn't want to look at Carrie Underwood (for obvious reasons) who was his guest that night," she explained next to an article written about her previous Thread. "Come on, guys, I'm not worth the clickbait."
Carrie Underwood on Politics
In the past, Underwood has mostly spoken on her dislike of politics, but that hasn't stopped fans from sleuthing to figure out what her views are.
In a 2019 interview, Underwood explained that she "tries to stay out of politics" because "nobody wins." "Everybody tries to sum everything up and put a bow on it," she explained, "Like it's black and white. And it's not like that."
However, around the time of her inauguration performance last year, Underwood shared that she was "honored" to have been asked to perform. "I love our country," she told People. "I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."
In December of 2025, Grahan confirmed her thoughts on Underwood, calling her "American all right, but certainly no idol."
