If you grew up during the early 2000s, chances are, you remember 'Shaun White Snowboarding' on the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3.
Shaun is one of the best snowboarders of his generation. He is a three-time gold medalist at the Winter Olympics in the snowboard halfpipe event. His medals came in 2006, 2010 and 2018. He's also medaled in the Winter X Games every year that he's competed since 2002.
Well, if you live in New York and happened to be enjoying the snow in Central Park on Sunday, Jan. 25, then there's a chance you might have seen the snowboarding legend in person. White was reportedly showing off his skills to the public.
The veteran snowboarder even hit a jump over comedian and podcaster Shane Gillis, proving that he's still capable of getting some big air when he needs to. Of course, Shaun's escapades quickly found their way onto social media, with impressed fans posting videos to multiple platforms.
It's not every day that such a brutal snowstorm takes hold of such a large part of the country. However, when it does, it creates conditions for Shaun to thrive in. And to be honest, catching a glimpse at a legendary athlete is always a good time, regardless of the weather conditions.
Shaun White Recently Broke up With Nina Dobrev
Shaun likely has some additional time on his hands. In September 2025, both he and his then-fiancée, Nina Dobrev, called off their engagement, ending their five-year relationship. Nina is best known for her role as Elena Gilbert in the hit show The Vampire Diaries. She also played Katherine Pierce in the same teen drama.
"Nina is devastated," a source close to the couple told Us Weekly after the breakup. "They had finally started planning the wedding and things were in motion."
That same source denied claims that either Nina or Shaun had cheated during their relationship.
"They were very loyal to each other," the source said. "Any online speculation that suggests otherwise is ridiculous."
White is clearly putting his focus back into his snowboarding. And, judging by what we saw on Sunday, he may have some more gold medals left in the tank.
