The actor played Bill Norwood on the show from 2011 to 2018. He died last month at 60 years old. The actor was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2022. After a recurrence, the illness metastasized.

The Stars of "The Middle" Were Together at a Memorial for Pat Finn

Jen Ray played Nancy in The Middle. She shared a photo this week of her castmates at a memorial for Finn. It included Patricia Heaton, who played Frankie, Neil Flynn, who was Mike on the show, Beau Wirick, who starred as Sean, and Brock Ciarlelli, who played Brad.

Ray began the caption with, "I caught a red-eye flight home to Chicago after spending two days celebrating Pat Finn with his family and friends. Seems so fitting. My heart is heavy, my eyes are filled with tears, but boy, oh boy, was my belly filled with laughter!"

Finn Was Remembered for His Authenticity

Ray added some touching words to pay tribute to her friend and co-star.

"There are no words to properly describe the hole in our lives now," she wrote. "But what I hold on to and what I take as inspiration is the way Pat Finn lived his life with kindness first, love for his family, friends and all people in the world and the JOY and LAUGHTER that he brought into the world by just being authentically him."

She then added, "My heart breaks because we don't get to share more time with him, but my heart swells for the time we did.

"Thank you Pat for showing us all how to live.  You did it so right.  Until we sit in director's chairs sharing laughter again.  I will forever be grateful for you."

Finn seemingly acted with just about everyone in Hollywood. He was a roommate of Saturday Night Live alum Chris Farley and starred opposite George Wendt in his titular sitcom.

Seinfeld fans will recognize Finn as the character George Mayo from the episode "The Reverse Peephole." He also appeared in That '70s Show, Friends, and Murphy Brown. Finn was also a spokesperson for Toyota dealerships in Phoenix, where he played a father obsessed with the vehicle line.
