According to Page Six, insiders claim that the singer's departure from daytime television is "definite. Another says it is "likely that it will not go on."
Supporting this, an insider shared with the outlet, "[Her show] is a lot to put on, and looking at the landscape across daytime television, it's not sustainable anymore."
Similarly, Entertainment Tonight reported that "Kelly is done," and that the show "will end after this season."
Reps for The Kelly Clarkson Show stated, "Any updates concerning the show will be communicated directly."
Why Could "The Kelly Clarkson Show" End?
The Entertainment Tonight report also mentions a feeling of "uncertainty" among the show's staff. It added that they "don't know anything yet" about its future.
"It very well could be ending after this season, because her contract ends, but the staff doesn't know for sure yet," added the source.
On a related note, Clarkson was absent from her show last year to prioritize her family following her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock's melanoma diagnosis. He died in August at the age of 48. He was the father of Clarkson's two children, River Rose and Remi Alexander.
During that time, Clarkson also postponed several dates of her Las Vegas residency.
Who Would Replace Clarkson?
There were rumors that former Today show host Hoda Kotb would replace Clarkson during her absence last year. Insiders shared that a long list of names was being floated should the "Since U Been Gone" singer decide to leave.
However, a source who spoke with Page Six cautioned that nothing has been decided yet. Despite buzz around The Kelly Clarkson Show's future, this source noted, "people are jumping the gun. Nothing is definite yet, and it's still a long season."
During the Q&A session at the beginning of the year, Clarkson emphasized that her family had faced many challenges over the past year.
"There's been a lot for our family recently, and so I have allowed my kids to sleep with me quite a bit," she said. "So it's my two dogs, my kids and me. It's a lot."
