Megan Moroney Almost Hurt Herself Filming the “Wish I Didn’t” Video: “I Probably Had a Concussion”

Megan Moroney is a rockstar, but even she isn't immune to injury. The country singer shared that she almost hurt herself while filming a music video.

Megan Moroney just dropped her new song, "Wish I Didn't", on Friday. In addition, she also dropped a music video that closely mirrors Mr. and Mrs. Smith. In the video, Moroney stars alongside Dylan Efron, who plays her partner with a secret to hide. However, it's probably not the secret you think it is. By the end, Moroney and Efron are knee deep in a dinner table tussle. That's when they realize that they're being watched by a third party. Apparently, they both aren't as slick as they think they are.

On a livestream talking about the song's release, Moroney revealed that filming the fight scene at the end left her more scarred than she'd expected.

"Guys, the bruises on my knees after the fight scene... It was wild," she shared. "Knees were black. It was the end of the day, and we literally only did it twice because I was exhausted."

"But yeah, we had a stunt coordinator and everything," she revealed. "I need to show y'all the plate getting smashed over my head. Yeah, I probably had a concussion over it, but anything for the music video."

After watching the video for myself, I'd definitely say that all the hassle was worth the final product.

Since She Started, Moroney's Come a Long Way

Along with dropping "Wish I Didn't", Moroney also recently dropped the tracklist for her new album Cloud 9, which is slated to come out in February. The album features collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Kacey Musgraves, and a few songs that fans are already familiar with.

Megan shared in an interview with Country Now that the songs on Cloud 9 are representative of "the strongest, most confident version" of herself to date. She told Music Mayhem, "On Lucky and Girl in the Mirror, I was questioning my worth... but now... I feel like I've lived enough life and grown up enough, and I'm qualified to tell myself, 'You are worth it.'"

It was only after performing at a sorority event in college that Megan Moroney decided to fully pursue a career as an artist. Now, she's about to put our her third full length studio album, which she recorded in the Bahamas, no less.

"To be able to even work in The Bahamas," she shared, "That was something where it's like, 'Wow, this is like, I'm not sure it gets better than this.' And I think back to when I'm writing songs in the sorority house, 'How did I get from there to here? I'm in The Bahamas, just singing my third album.'

You really never know where life can take you.

Megan Moroney's Cloud 9 releases on February 20, 2026, anywhere you listen to music.
