Ali Larter, who plays Angela Norris on 'Landman,' talked about why her on screen relationship with Billy Bob Thornton seems so realistic.

They play a married couple, Tommy and Angela Norris. Plainly put, they burn up the screen with their fiery intensity. Larter talked recently about why they create sparks together. Larter Did a Deep Dive Into the Chemistry She Shares With Thornton

Recently when Ali Larter was a guest on CBS Mornings, she analyzed the amazing chemistry she has with her co-star, Billy Bob Thornton. She spoke with the frankness and clarity that viewers love about her and her Landman character, Angela. With these two remarkable actors in key roles, it was almost a surefire cinch that Taylor Sheridan's powerhouse series would be another hit for him.

Larter shared, "It's so interesting, you never know where chemistry is going to come from, and I think that you know he commits and spends so much time on the set. He's incredibly present and giving as an actor. So, when you're number one on the call sheet, you really set the tone for how it's going to run on set, and we both work in a similar way that we love what we do."

She graciously added, "And we also feel really grateful to be a part of something where the writing is that special, so we do the work... When you have that level of respect, that's where the chemistry comes from."

Larter and Thornton Worked Together To Keep Things Real

The actress was on The Drew Barrymore Show discussing this subject. She said that she and Thornton put their heads together to pinpoint the ways they could portray Tommy and Angela's complex relationship in a genuine way. They kept it real. Viewers are raptly tuning in. Larter and Thornton have masterfully succeeded.

Larter said, "...[H]e's like, 'Relationships are so messy. Let's find all the things between us we can put into this work.' So he doesn't rehearse, and so when I show up on set with him, I'm very prepared, and we're just living."

She went on, "What we found in these characters is that they love each other for who they truly are, no matter what antics they play and pull off. So, no matter, you know, the shenanigans that Angela does, she shows him her worst self, and he still loves her."
