Country Music Icon Achieves New Ranking on Billboard’s Country Airplay List Only Behind Kenny Chesney

Blake Shelton has many achievements to his credit. Now he can add another. He's in second place on Billboard's all-time Country Airplay list.

Blake Shelton now has the distinction of being the only occupant of second place on Billboard's Country Airplay list, per the outlet. Shelton landed that honor with the song "Stay Country or Die Tryin'." It's his 30th chart-topper on the all-time list. Just one artist, Kenny Chesney, outranks him. He edges Shelton out for the top spot with 33.

Among the other distinguished country music vocalists on the coveted "all-time leaderboard" are Toby Keith, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, and Luke Bryan. It's kind of like a Who's Who of country music fame.

Who Wrote "Stay Country or Die Tryin'"?

The track is a co-write by Drew Parker, Beau Bailey, Samuel Ellis, and Graham Barham. Wide Open Country labeled the song "a pure country anthem." It triumphantly celebrates the country lifestyle in gritty, authentic language, well-delivered as always by Shelton.

He said of the popular track per the outlet, "When I heard Stay Country or Die Tryin,' it took me back to the first time I heard 'Ol' Red' or God's Country.' It's got so much energy and is full of those little catchphrases and things we say out in the country. I absolutely fell in love with it. I'm proud of this recording - and I love singing it live even more."

He's in Las Vegas This Month at the Colosseum

Blake Shelton isn't just sitting at home pondering his new accolade. He's in Las Vegas for eight shows at the Colosseum at Caesar's Palace this month. He and his loyal fans sound really excited about the concerts. He posted on Instagram, "I've been counting down the days until I could tell y'all... WE ARE BACK, VEGAS!!!!! We're returning to The Colosseum at @caesarspalace this January."

Shelton's devotees sounded enthralled at the news. One wrote, "YES And I'm going to do my best to travel from Ireland ?? to see this brillant and beautiful soul to see him at last play LIVE" Added another, "YESSS KING IS BACK! Best show ever" From a third came, "I could listen to your beautiful songs all day long!"
