Zach Bryan may have begun the New Year by marrying his partner of five months, Samantha Leonard, but he has a parting shot for his ex-girlfriend, Brianna "Chickenfry" LaPaglia.

The "Something in the Orange" singer has made the occasional remark or cheap shot at his former flame since their breakup in October 2024. But LaPaglia has continued to share her allegations of toxic behavior on her podcasts and television appearances.
For example, when she appeared on the reality series Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, she talked about how she felt she wasn't allowed to be herself while dating Bryan.
LaPaglia said, "I used to be very strong. I don't want to give anyone power over me. I really want to take control, and if I make it, it's because I did it." She also revealed that Bryan offered her $12.9 million to stay silent about their relationship.
She obviously turned it down, though some allege it never happened. Then this week, LaPaglia talked about the "sexual trauma" she carried from dating Bryan and how she aims to get "f*****g cracked" in 2026.
But with his new song, titled "Skin", Bryan is firing back at his ex. We have the details below.
Zach Bryan Is "Draining the Blood" Between Him and Brianna LaPaglia
"Skin" is among the 25 songs on Bryan's latest, With Heaven On Top. While a few songs on the album could be interpreted as shots at LaPaglia, this ballad sounds like his declaration that he's been ready to move on.
The former couple got tattoos for each other while they were together, but Bryan sings that he's going to remove them.
"I'm taking a blade to my old tattoos
I'm draining the blood between me and you
I'm taking a blade to my own skin
And I ain't never touching yours again
Yeah, I ain't never touching yours again..."
It's the second verse that feels a little more pointed in light of LaPaglia continuing to bring up Bryan's mistakes in public.
"How do tattoos take to your skin?
Is your higher ground ever sinking?
Do you love people just to win when it's over?
How do tattoos take to your skin?
Do you still talk s**t on all your friends?
I'm here to take it all to the chin
This time stone cold sober"
It's doubtful that "Skin" will be the last word on this relationship. LaPaglia will likely respond to the lyrics on a podcast soon. But it does sound like Bryan, despite his faults, is working on being a better human.
