Though she hasn't released a new album in years, Britney Spears' music still resonates with fans.
Videos by Wide Open Country
Not only have her songs endured, but her 2023 memoir, The Woman In Me, became a worldwide bestseller. Additionally, her viral Instagram dancing videos keep fans engaged.
Clearly, the public would love to see more of the "Toxic" singer, and yesterday, Jan. 9, they finally got some good news. She shared that she would be performing very soon. But then she added that there is one country where she'll never perform on stage: the United States.
What gives? We have the details below.
Britney Spears Says There Are "Sensitive Reasons" Why She Won't Tour America
In a recent Instagram post, Spears posted a picture of her sitting on a piano stool holding a microphone. She shares in the caption that the white Yamaha will be going to someone special in her life.
"Sending this piano to my son this year!!!" she wrote.
She also explained the reason behind her Instagram dance videos.
"Interestingly enough, I dance on IG to heal things in my body that people have no idea about," she said. "Yup and it's embarrassing sometimes... but I walked through the fire to save my life..."
However, Americans shouldn't expect to see her dance on stage anytime soon.
"I will never perform in the U.S. again because of extremely sensitive reasons but I hope to be sitting on a stool with a red rose in my hair, in a bun, performing with my son... in the UK and AUSTRALIA very soon," she wrote. "He's a huge star and I'm so humbled to be in his presence!!! God speed, little man!!!"
Spears Is Mending Fences With Her Sons
As we reported in November, Spears is working to repair the relationship with her two boys, Sean Preston and Jayden James. She has previously spoken about Jayden's musical skills.
"We haven't talked specifically, but I know that she's talked to our sons, which is good," her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, explained. "They absolutely love their mom, right? I mean, they always, always have, always will. It's instilled in them. And I've always wanted for them to have a connection with their mom, the way I have with my mom."
If she follows through with these performances abroad, this could be a step in building a bond with them. Sadly, American fans won't be able to see him in action.
