Mickey Rourke Tells Fans Not To Donate to Fundraiser Launched To Help Him Avoid Eviction: “I Wouldn’t Ask for No F***Ing Money”

Someone claiming to be a member of Mickey Rourke's management team set up the page to help the actor pay his unpaid rent.

There's now a twist in the tale of Mickey Rourke.

On Friday, we reported that the 73-year-old actor faced eviction from his three-bedroom rental over nearly $60,000 in unpaid rent. Rourke leased the 1,600-square-foot home in March for $5,200 monthly. The rent was later raised to $7,000.

Court documents show he received a three-day notice in mid-December telling him to pay or leave his Los Angeles home. He "ended up failing to comply." The landlord is seeking back rent, attorney fees, and the forfeiture of the rental agreement.

Rourke rented the home before he began taking legal action against the reality show Celebrity Big Brother UK over a pay dispute that happened after he moved in.

Then yesterday, we shared that over $60,000 had been raised for the Academy Award nominee. Liya-Joelle Jones, who described herself as the assistant to Rourke's manager, Kimberly Hines, set up a GoFundMe to support him.

However, Rourke is now telling fans not to contribute to the fundraiser. We have the details below.

Mickey Rourke Says "That's Not Me"

In a video posted on his Instagram page last night, Rourke, wearing a bright pink shirt and cowboy hat and holding a tiny dog, said he had heard about the GoFundMe page.

"That's not me," he said. "If I needed money I wouldn't ask for no f***ing money. I'd rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger!"

He said he doesn't know what a GoFundMe is, calling the situation "embarrassing."

"My life is very simple," he said. "I don't go to outside sources like that."

He urged fans to avoid the fundraiser and suggested those who already contributed try to get their money back.

Rourke Also Talked About His Career

During his video, Rourke reflected on his career, admitting he did "a really terrible job" managing it.

He said, "I wasn't diplomatic. I had to go to over 20 years of therapy to get over the damage that was done to me years ago. I worked very hard to work through that. I'm not that person anymore."

While admitting to borrowing from friends, Rourke insisted he'd "never ask strangers or fans or anybody for a nickel."

Elsewhere, TMZ reports that Rourke checked into a West Hollywood hotel with his dog on Sunday. It remains unclear whether this move is related to his reported eviction.
