Does This Have To Do With the Suspension of Jimmy Kimmel?

Like many other streaming services, Disney has regularly increased the subscription prices for Disney+, ESPN, and Hulu as part of an ongoing business strategy.

Per Variety, while this recent announcement comes at an odd time for Disney, it has been planning to raise prices long before it suspended Jimmy Kimmel for comments he made about Charlie Kirk's killer. The late-night talk show host went back on the air on Tuesday, September 23.

As we reported yesterday, Sinclair Broadcast Group, an owner of several ABC affiliates, will continue not to air Jimmy Kimmel Live! On X, Sinclair announced that it would replace the show with news programming for the time being.

"Discussions with ABC are ongoing as we evaluate the show's potential return," the company said in a statement.

This news also comes as the Mouse House completed its full acquisition of Hulu from Comcast. It is now bringing together the two streaming services. Hulu is expected to shut down next year.
