Jessica Simpson's return to music can't seem to catch a break. The actress and pop singer has spent much of the last 15 years focusing on herself and her family. She's been a mother to her two daughters, Maxwell and Birdie, and one son, Ace. She's also focused on running her successful fashion brand, The Jessica Simpson Collection.

Now, she's come back to her first love: music. Her EP, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, has received some praise. Some of the songs on that collection are about Simpson's divorce from Eric Johnson, which was finalized in January.
However, her first television performance, which took place on this season's American Idol finale, was met with strong criticism online. One viewer took to social media to ask, "Who in the boardroom decided Jessica Simpson's mic was going to be on?" during her rendition of "These Boots Were Made For Walking" with Josh King, a former American Idol contestant.
Needless to say, the "Take My Breath Away" needed a win when she was scheduled to appear on the Today show on Wednesday, July 23, as part of its Citi Concert Series.
Jessica Simpson's Performance Started Out Fine
Simpson was wearing a creme-colored corseted dress underneath a bedazzled fringed jacket when she took the stage to perform hits like "I Think I'm in Love with You" and "With You," as well as her latest song, "Fade."
However, things started to slip on stage.
One side of the dress came down and revealed Simpson's pink bra underneath. Once she realized what was happening, she pulled things together and gave a good performance.
After her performance, Simpson addressed the issue, saying, "Of course, I had a malfunction here and everywhere, but it's OK. I think my boobs stayed in, so it's OK."
That's Not All That Happened to Simpson
According to the gossip site Page Six, Simpson's dress wasn't the only thing that slipped. Her bladder also affected her performance. The Newlyweds star told some people in her green room that she had peed during the performance.
In all fairness, Simpson is not the first performer to admit this happens. Everyone from Shania Twain, Hugh Jackman, and Jelly Roll hasn't been able to hold it when giving it their all.
It just gives posts like this one a little more meaning.
