Jelly Roll Claims 'I Was The Gold Digger,' Claps Back at Trolls Going After His Wife, Bunnie Xo

Jelly Roll might be making the big bucks now, but it wasn't always that way. In fact, when Jelly Roll met his now-wife, Bunnie Xo, he was basically homeless, while she was living in the lap of luxury. It's why the singer gets to upset when people claim she is a gold-digger, when in reality he says it was the other way around.

"My wife grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada," Jelly Roll reveals on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast. "My wife was a high-end escort her whole life. That's what she did when I met her. I was broke. I was living in a 1996 van. Literally. Didn't have a house. And this woman has like two condos and a few sports cars. She's f-king BALLING."

"I was the gold digger," he adds. "This woman had so much money.'"

It was also Bunnie Xo who helped him gain custody of his daughter, Bailee Ann, after Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo eloped in 2016.

Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo's Relationship Now

Critics can say what they want, but Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo are doing better than ever these days.

"I guess we went through the hardest [stuff] the first few years because, man, it's only getting smoother," Jelly Roll says on the podcast, The Pivot (via People). "It's not even more like I'm just settled in. Like, it's not even that old stale marriage where they're just like, we're roommates."

"We're just really getting better ... That's my partner," he remarks. "I used to hate it when people go, 'That's my person.' But I'm like, she's my person."

The couple is also trying to add to their family, via IVF, although Bunnie Xo admits that has been physically challenging for her.

"I'm in medical menopause and it's been hellacious," Bunnie Xo says on her Dumb Blonde podcast. "It has been the worst thing I've ever been through in my life. ... I've lost weight. I can't eat ... I feel like I'm rotting from the inside out.

"At this point, I don't f--king care," she adds. "Let's just call it what it is and figure out another game plan."
