Jason Aldean Offers A New Update On His Long-Awaited Next Album

Jason Aldean is offering a new update on his long-awaited next album. The record is the follow-up to his Highway Desperado project, out in 2023.

"[I'm] excited to get it out there," Aldean tells Audacy, adding that releasing music is much different than it was in the past.

"You drop an album and then everybody just consumes it for a month or two," the "Try That In A Small Town" singer says. "And then they're like, 'OK, when's the next one coming out?' You're like, 'Man, it took me eight months to make that thing.' So, I think this go around, trying to figure out how we drop a project and maybe kind of stagger it out where we don't give them everything right off the bat. Just enough to kind of say, 'Here's a little bit,' and then 'Here's a little bit more.' And then, 'Here's the rest of it' kind of thing."

Aldean currently has the No. 1 song in the country with "Whiskey Drink." The song is likely his last release from Highway Desperado.

What We Know About Jason Aldean's Next Album

Aldean has already revealed some details about his next album. The Georgia native hints that there will be a few surprise guests on the project, although he declines to say which ones.

It's been a cool project," Aldean tells Taste of Country.  "A lot of songs. Couple duets in there too, so it's gonna be pretty cool ... A couple, two, three, we'll see. Some of that stuff is still in the works.

"There's a couple of songs in the works that I know are going to be duets," he adds. "Then there's one, maybe two that we still kind of haven't found our partner for that yet."

Aldean's album might be nearing completion, but his part has been done for a while now.

"We [have] been in the studio a lot," Aldean says. "Probably like the last eight months or so, six to eight months. Pretty much done with the album, at least my part."

Aldean won't have too much time to work on his next record over the next few months. He just kicked off his Full Throttle Tour, which wraps up in October.
