One Nashville Street Is Especially Thankful To Morgan Wallen For Setting One Record Straight

There is one Nashville street that has an infamous reputation for being difficult to pronounce for tourists and people outside Music City.

Demonbreun is a street with semi-viral acclaim due to people often butchering its pronunciation. The street parallel to Broadway is also a Nashville hotspot, but its name has proven a challenge to many.

Many people will assume the street is pronounced 'Demon-brew-in" or even "De-mon-brawn," but actually, it's a mix of both. And one of Morgan Wallen's new singles has set the record straight.

Morgan Wallen recently released his album I'm The Problem. The mammoth 37-track album included dozens of new singles, one of which name-drops the nefariously pronounced street.

Although I've gone on record for saying that Morgan Wallen's album isn't all too impressive for an artist of his calibre, I must admit that I do enjoy some songs, such as "20 Cigarettes." And that's exactly the song that mentions Demonbreun in the opening lines.

The song opens with "20 Cigarettes, and I lit me one, on that redwood deck, of Demonbreun."

I didn't really appreciate this little fact when I heard the song, but locals are thankful that the right pronunciation has finally been used. For those curious who can't be bothered to start up the song, it goes like this:

'De-mon-bree-un.'

People Took To TikTok To Share Their Gratitude

Many people took to TikTok to share their relief. As Morgan Wallen has many fans outside of Nashville, they're hoping that visitors will be more likely to know how to pronounce the street properly after hearing Morgan Wallen sing it.

"Wallen teaching the world to pronounce 'Demonbreun' was not on my 2025 bingo card," wrote one in a post.

Fellow frustrated fans hit the comments with their thoughts.

"100%!!! I thought the same thing!" exclaimed a fan.

"Only Nashville people will get this lol," wrote another.

"My gps calls is demon brewn," laughed one more.

One, however, said something that has changed the way I listen to the lyrics forever: "I thought he was saying lumberyard for a few days." On a repeat listen, I now can't not hear 'the lumberyard.'

So, thanks for that.
