Jessica Simson has taken some time out of the public eye after finding the online vitriol a little too much to cope with. She slipped back into the shadows and took some time to work on her clothing brand and personal mental health. But she's back and in the spotlight once more, and apparently, her first TV show had her "dying".

It was understandable for Jessica Simpson to go dark for a while. She didn't deal well with the haters that emerged online and in the media. They went for her appearance, and it cut her deep. "I was taken down by the world," she told the Today show. She felt "a dysmorphia set in."
But now, she's ready to face the hordes again. We saw Jessica Simpson on American Idol with her first TV show appearance in 15 years. It wasn't easy, though, and she was sweating with nerves.
Facing Fears For Jessica Simpson On TV Return
Speaking to Extra, she spoke of how she felt appearing on American Idol. "Oh, my God, I was dying. I can't even tell you how long it's been since I've been that nervous. Like, I had to put hairspray on my feet to stand still, like, not that it actually keeps me put, but, like, my feet were sweating."
If you've ever felt stage fright, you'll know how debilitating it is. The whole 'knees weak, mum spaghetti' situation Eminem sang about is no exaggeration. "I just kept telling myself, 'Do not cry. Do not cry. I know this is a big moment ... do not cry."
Honestly, watching Jessica Simpson perform on TV for the first time in 15 years, you would have no idea she was dying inside. There wasn't a waver in her voice as she sang songs from "Nashville Canyon, Part 1." But the whole time, she was barely holding it together.
"I see my dad, like, up in the corner, and I'm like, 'Ah, I'm going to cry. I'm going to cry. Do not cry. Just sing your songs. Just sing your songs." She pulled it off, and that first return to TV for Jessica Simpson was complete. Hopefully, going forward, it's much easier.
