Josh Freese Really Wants To Know Why Foo Fighters Fired Him

Have you ever been fired from your job and had no idea why? One day, one of your bosses call you into the office or invite you to a Zoom meeting. They tell you that you're being let go and they wish you the best in all your future endeavors. You think you were doing a great job, or at the very least kept your head down and did decent. This is what it felt like for drummer Josh Freese after he got canned from the Foo Fighters.

He joined the band in 2023 after their original drummer Taylor Hawkins passed away. Unfortunately, he only lasted with the group for a couple years before getting unceremoniously dumped on May 16th. Evidently, Freese is deeply confused by this debacle, he thought he was doing great. Consequently, he's fixating on what could've been the inciting point that made the Foo Fighters tell him to kick rocks.

Josh Freese Lists 10 Potential Reasons Why The Foo Fighters Fired Him

Recently, the drummer posted a silly list on his Instagram, with various theories on why Dave Grohl and co. let him go. All of these clearly aren't that serious, probably the best way to get over a breakup of any magnitude. Imagining a lot of these as serious reasons is actually incredibly hilarious. For instance, Freese whistling My Hero for a week straight while on a tour bus with the boys? Awful. Not growing a beard out like the rest of the guys? Unforgivable. How could you live with such chaos?

As it stands, the Foo Fighters still haven't released an official statement or even told the drummer why he's not with the band anymore. Moreover, they haven't announced his replacement yet either. Time will tell what happens next but Freese seems comfortable with his next steps regardless.
