Hollywood A-Lister Injures Face While Preparing For AMAs

Jennifer Lopez, set to host the 2025 American Music Awards, sustained an injury to her face during rehearsals. The actress and singer, 55, shared the mishap on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, posting a photo of herself icing her nose.

"So this happened...," she captioned. A follow-up slide revealed a cut on her nose, with Lopez noting it occurred "during @amas rehearsals."

Preparing for the Spotlight

Lopez will take the stage at the BleauLive Theater in Las Vegas on May 26 for the AMAs, marking her second time hosting after 2015. Her face, of course, is a big selling point. The singer, a three-time AMA winner, is no stranger to the show's high-energy demands.

In 2015, she dazzled with a dance medley of the year's biggest hits and shared heartfelt remarks about her lifelong love for the awards. "This show truly inspired me," she said, crediting icons like Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, and Madonna for fueling her dreams.

Penske Media Corporation CEO Jay Penske praised Lopez's return in a press release last month.

"Jennifer's incredible talent and incomparable stage presence make her the ideal host," he said. "We know she will bring her one-of-a-kind energy to the official kick-off celebration of summer."

The 2025 AMAs boast a star-studded nominee lineup, including Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, Kendrick Lamar, and Sabrina Carpenter. The event will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+.

History of Grit Through Setbacks

This isn't Lopez's first brush with injury at the AMAs. In 2009, she took a tumble during her performance, later explaining on The Ellen DeGeneres Show that a dancer's sweaty back caused her to slip.

"My feet got wet, and when I landed, it just slipped from under me," she said. Ever the professional, Lopez joked about gearing up with a cushion, knee pad, and helmet to avoid another fall.

Despite the recent injury, Lopez's resilience is shining through. Either way, one thing is for sure -- fans are eagerly awaiting her return to the AMA stage, where she's likely to deliver a performance packed with her signature charisma and grit. Bruised nose and all.
