The 60th ACM Awards ceremony is happening on May 8th. So you don't miss out on any dramatic moments, you'll want to know which records could be broken or extended.

Although I've never really cared about award ceremonies, it's still interesting to see records being broken and extended. As artists win and lose categories in these award shows, eras fade out and new ones begin.
VegasInsider.com gathered a bunch of data on the ACM Awards this year and shared them with us. I've raked through all the records that are on the line and have presented them below. I wonder which will survive, and which will be broken.
Chris Stapleton Could Dethrone George Strait
The most significant record that could be broken this year is the solo male musician with the most ACM awards. The record is currently held by The King, George Strait, with 24. He's not nominated for any awards this year, however, making him a target for Chris Stapleton.
Chris Stapleton currently has 20, but he's got six nominations. Should he win 5, he could race past George Strait to have the highest number of male awards for a solo male artist.
Lainey Wilson Could Be First Country Woman To Win EOTY Twice In A Row
Lainey Wilson could be the first woman country singer to win Entertainer of the Year twice, two times in a row.
Now, thic technically isn't an ACM first, as Taylor Swift achieved this when she won the award in 2011 and 2012. However, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that Taylor Swift is not a country singer, so the record still stands in my eyes.
Brooks & Dunn Could Continue Their Domination
Brooks & Dunn have some serious awards under their belt. This year, they could extend their reigns. They could win their 17th Duo of the Year award, keeping them firmly in the lead.
In doing so, the pair could also extend their record as the most awarded duo in ACM history. If they win Duo of the Year again, that'll be their 31st win.
Old Dominion Could Break Their Tie With The Rascal Flatts
Old Dominion have won Group of the Year for the past 7 years, now. A win this year would be their 8th, and would break their tie with Rascal Flatts.
Interestingly, Rascal Flatts won cnsecutively from 2003 to 2009, and Old Dominion have won consecutively since 2018. Will history repeat itself and cap Old Dominion at 7 consecutive wins, or will they break through?
