Neil Young has been a major presence on the music scene for a long, long time. His inventory of songs must be huge after all that time. Lately, per faroutmagazine.co.uk, he has been dusting off and revisiting vintage songs that have not been in his setlist for a while. One of them is "Ordinary People." It had been some 36 years since Young, who is now 79 years old, did that exceptional track live on stage. That would bring us back to 1989.

According to the outlet, "The singer appeared at the Autism Speaks Light Up The Blues 7 show at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles...." I bet the audience really loved hearing that long-lost song from an earlier era. The tune, an 18-minute marvel, dates back to 1988, when he recorded it.

There Were Some Choice Throwback Moments At The Concert Where Neil Young Performed 'Ordinary People'

At that concert, Young teamed up with Stephen Stills of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young on two songs - "Rockin' in the Free World" and "Human Highway." That was not the only special moment at the event. Young also joined Stills on "For What It's Worth," the Buffalo Springfield hit. They preformed it at another occasion late in 2024.

He Has Taken Firm Political Stands Recently

Young, who is Canadian, has not been bashful about taking a stance on President Donald Trump's remarks about Canada. He also penned an open letter to Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Per the outlet via the Neil Young Archives web site, it said in part, "I believe you are the person our country needs to lead us through this crazy situation and bring us out the other side as a stronger, smarter, more resilient Canada, our core values of caring and fairness and generosity intact, along with our souls. Without a doubt, you've got the chops to get it done. And man, you have got the guts to take it on."

Young has always had a strong voice which has informed his music. It makes him an intriguing and fascinating performer that we really love to watch and listen to.
