A woman spotted a rather large eight-legged stowaway in her washing machine. She posted footage of the spider to TikTok in a video that has already garnered over 3 Million views.

Dee lives in London, UK, and got a nasty shock when she peered over at her washing machine. A spider managed to get inside the spin and was still alive even though the machine was full of clothes and water. Dee exclaims, "I put it on a rinse and spin because I was scared to get the spider out. And now I'm just thinking, how am I going to get the clothes out, even if it's dead?"
Dee clarifies that she's not usually scared of spiders, but this one "is big, huge!." As if on cue, the spider appears the moment she says this and is very much alive despite its wet predicament.
There aren't any spiders in the UK that have deadly bites. But in Dee's defense, there are some speedy ones. I'm no arachnid expert, but Dee's eight-legged friend may be a house spider. If that's the case, that critter can run over half a meter a second, which is extremely fast for something so small and quite scary if it's coming at you!

As you probably expect, the comment section is ablaze with spider jokes and advice on what Dee should do next. Shona replies, "Throw the washing machine away and start over." Another comment with over 15K likes by Saint says, "That washing machine will be washing them clothes for 3 days STRAIGHT I tell ya."
A post by ThatMontana with over 40K likes reads, "Is this a rollercoaster to him, WHYS IT STILL ALIVE." Another simply says, "I'd call the police."
While many comments are definitely on 'Team Dee,' others are rooting for the spider. Sleen replied, "Poor little guy. All spiders do is eat other bugs in ur house... this is so cruel." Another by Annierita151 says, "YOU'RE SCARED? Imagine how he feels."
Many also point out that the arachnid hasn't drowned. Some posters have theories on how long a spider can survive in water, and a brief search hasn't yielded anything concrete. I don't want my search engine assaulting me with spider pictures, but it's clear a washing machine isn't the best tool in the house to get rid of them.
