Carlos Santana is no spring chicken, and it seems to be getting the better of him as he cancels a second show in his tour due to ill health.

Since 1966, Santana has been gracing stages, ranging from iconic festivals to huge arenas. His seemingly endless passion for his music and performance has wowed crowds for generations. But the blues, Latin, and rock legend is 77 years old and not as sprightly as he used to be.
After playing to a wet crowd in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Santana collapsed on stage during his next show's sound check. While setting up to perform for the fans of San Antonio, he was taken off the stage on a gurney. A heartfelt apology was issued, postponing the show until a later date.
His PR team let people know that he was suffering from dehydration. But, they said, he was under a watchful eye, and they expected Santana to be back to his show in no time. Fans were understanding and wished him a speedy recovery.
Santana Takes A Step Back From The Stage
Despite doctors and his manager hoping Santana would be back on his show quickly, he has taken another rain check. Now, Santana has also cancelled his show in Sugar Land, Texas. He clearly needs another day or two to recover before resuming his tour.
The
official statement informed fans that "Out of an abundance of caution and the health of Mr. Santana, the decision to postpone the show was the most prudent course of action." Rather than push the aging rock star back under the spotlight, letting him rest is best. This isn't the first time Santana has suffered dehydration. It has happened once before in 2022 when he collapsed on stage. I feel like someone needs to make sure that guy drinks his water.
They plan to reschedule both shows at their earliest convenience. It's no small amount of effort touring, even for a man half his age. But the show must go on. Fans are always understanding, though. There may not be too many tours left in old Santana after this one. And, as they say, good things come to those who wait.
