'90s Rocker Doesn't Care If People Recognize Her, She Wants To Age Gracefully

In an age where everyone and their dog get plastic surgery the second they show a sign of crow's feet, 90's rocker Shirley Manson is a breath of fresh air, happy to age naturally and gracefully.

It's very on brand for Shirley Mason not to subscribe to this obsession with surgical age reversal. Rather than slice her body up and look like every other stiff-faced 58-year-old person who has caved to social pressures, she has decided to let life take its course.

International toilet paper, The Daily Mail, decided to pollute the world with its typical drivel by making a jab at Shirley Manson. The article claimed that her group, Garbage, looked unrecognisable ahead of their new album release. Shirley Manson took this personally and clapped back on Instagram.

"What is THIS supposed to mean?!? The Druids look almost exactly the same as they have always done for thirty years, so I can't help thinking this is directed at me," she posted. Of course, at the age of 58, she doesn't look like she did in her mid-twenties. Even with surgery, she wouldn't; she would just look like every other stretch-faced, expressionless surgery addict.

Shirley Manson Chooses To Age The Way Nature Intended

She doubled down on her statement, assuring everyone that despite the criticism, she never intends to change the way she looks just because everyone else seems to. "I'm nearly sixty years old. Of course, I'm not going to look anything like my late twenties self?!? Quite honestly, I think it would be a bit creepy if I did, but hey, that's just me."

Rather than let the typical Daily Mail snide remark get to her, Shirley Manson is going to continue just the way she always intended. "I shall continue to age as I am. I will continue to wrinkle and flub - lose an inch of my height here and gain a new inch or two there." It's so refreshing to see anyone in the public eye not give a single s**t what the media have to say.

She knows that her value to the world isn't dependent on how she looks. It's the music she brings to her fans and the world. Any true fan couldn't care less about how she looks as long as she tears the stage apart. "No matter what I look like - no matter what they say about me - I will always - and forever - rock HARDER than most."

Nothing is more beautiful than someone comfortable in the skin they're in, doing something they love. That's something plastic surgery will never be able to give. Keep on rocking, Shirley Manson.
