Thomas Rhett Ends Up Wheelchair After Injuring Himself At Concert

When you tell a performer to 'break a leg' it isn't usually meant literally. But, on his way to the stage to play with Forrest Frank, country singer Thomas Rhett did just that, ending up in a wheelchair.

In Nashville, Tennessee, Thomas Rhett was set to play along with the headliner, Forrest Frank. As he was introduced and made his way to the stage, the stairs got the better of him. He took a tumble but still made it in front of the crowd.

And, as they say, the show must go on. Rather than retire to a wheelchair immediately, Thomas Rhett fulfilled his duty to the crowd and sang his little heart out. Despite the pain he was clearly in, he got the crowd going.

"Every now and then, you just have to sing at a Forrest Frank concert and break your ankle in the process," He told the crowd. "I gave my all for Tennessee tonight." It wasn't until he limped off the stage that Thomas Rhett let people know how much pain he was actually in and climbed into a wheelchair.

Thomas Rhett In Good Humor Even In The Chair

Despite his injury, which was actually only a sprain (we checked), he still made light of the situation. He shared a video of himself sitting in a wheelchair, with his ankle in a splint with ice packs. Under the image, he shared the caption, "@hiforrest told me to pull up, and I left in a wheelchair."

His partner, Lauren, can be seen wheeling him out of the building. She clearly isn't too bothered either, she's using the wheelchair Thomas Rhett is in to stop her from falling over laughing. The whole situation was very amusing.

The injury isn't too bad, and he'll be on the mend in no time. Regardless of his fall on the way to the stage, his performance was great. He bounced around the stage, full of energy for his music and the crowd. That's professionalism for you.

A strain isn't the worst thing in the world. They hurt, but they won't keep him from the stage for long.
