I find John Lennon truly fascinating. He was complex, ambitious, brilliant, and sometimes inscrutable. He, along with bandmate Paul McCartney, managed to transform contemporary music. They were the George and Ira Gershwin of rock and roll. But Lennon's feelings about the Beatles were not so straightforward. He seemed a little ambivalent at times about one of the greatest groups in music history. In fact, he once allegedly referred to the band with an expletive. What was that all about?

Four Films About The Beatles Are On Tap
There is a quartet of tell-all biopics on the way from Academy Award-winning director Sir Sam Mendes about the Beatles. The lives and loves of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr will be re-examined. Per dailymail.co.uk, there seems to be plenty that we never knew about the four beloved mop tops.
They were cultural disruptors, to say the least. Per the outlet, "...[T]hey...became increasingly unafraid to defy cozy stereotypes, provoking shocked headlines and bans by the BBC." Maybe Lennon was the ringleader when it came to shaking up the status quo. Someone as loftily placed and astute as the late Queen Elizabeth reportedly remarked, "The Beatles are turning awfully funny, aren't they?
John Lennon Rebelled Against The Beatles' Wholesome Image
Per the outlet via Rolling Stone magazine, Lennon spouted off in 1970. He supposedly said, "F***in' big b*****ds, that's what The Beatles were. You have to be a b*****d to make it, that's a fact, and The Beatles are the biggest b*****ds on earth.' What exactly prompted his outburst is unclear.
The Beatle Biopics Should Be Interesting
These films are keenly anticipated. The actors are Barry Keoghan as Sir Ringo Starr. Paul Mescal will portray Sir Paul McCartney. George Harrison is going to be portrayed by Joseph Quinn. Harris Dickinson is slated to be John Lennon.
The two living Beatles, as well as the estates of the two who are deceased, are reportedly okay with the making of these films. Their content is anyone's guess at this point.
They Were Not Shrinking Violets
The four were adventurous in their youth, it seems. As a teen, George Harrison allegedly lost his virginity to a woman in Hamburg, Germany. The other Beatles supposedly were present, per the outlet.
Paul McCartney Reportedly Waffled About The Truth Of That Alleged Incident
According to McCartney, "I don't know whether that was George losing his virginity - it might have been. I mean, I think in the end this was one of the strengths of the Beatles, this enforced closeness which I always liken to army buddies. Because you're all in the same barracks - we were always very close and on top of each other, which meant you could totally read each other."
He also observed about Hamburg, "We were kids let off the leash. We were used to these little Liverpool girls, but by the time you got to Hamburg if you got a girlfriend there she's likely to be a stripper."
