The wife of former teen heartthrob Bobby Sherman announced recently that he is battling advanced cancer. A new update on his condition is causing his fans serious concern. Per newyorkpost.com, "In a phone interview with Fox News Digital, [his wife, Brigitte] Poublon confirmed that Sherman is 'terminally ill' and is currently 'at home with special care.'" She had posted on Facebook recently that Sherman, who is 81 years old, has stage 4 cancer. Per the outlet via Fox News Digital, it is kidney cancer that "spread everywhere."

According to Poublon, Sherman is not doing well at all now. The latest news is heartbreaking. "He was doing crossword puzzles with me in the last few days. And then all of a sudden Saturday, he turned around and...he's just sleeping more and his body's not working anymore. It's not. Everything's shutting down." At this point, he "wants 'to be left in peace.'" When Sherman was in the hospital, he reportedly said, "Brig, I just want to go home."

People like actor John Stamos have stepped up and showed their friendship and care. Poublon urged him not to come by in person to see Sherman because of his condition, so Stamos has been sending him greetings by video. Stamos encountered Sherman during his stint as an ambassador for the Brigitte and Bobby Sherman Children's Foundation. They hit it off and have remained pals ever since then.
Other well-known figures have crossed the couple's path, too. Among them are two people associate with Elvis Presley - his late daughter, Lisa Marie, and Jerry Schilling.
Sherman Knew Many Hollywood Personalities Early In His Career
Sherman's career as an actor was jump-started by his friendship with actor Sal Mineo. Through Mineo, he met Natalie Wood and Jane Fonda. They were enthused about the young aspiring actor and Poublon said they were instrumental in getting Sherman an agent. He ended up on the TV show, Shindig!, which aired from 1964 to 1966.
He maintained a friendship with Wood. Poublon said was crushed when she died by drowning in 1981.
He Was A Longtime Fan Favorite On TV
His career and popularity soared when he was on the 1960s TV show, Here Come the Brides. Later, Sherman switched gears and went into public service. His jobs included reserve deputy sheriff, reserve police officer, and paramedic.
