Joy Behar Stands Behind Backlash of Tom Hanks' SNL MAGA Skit

MAGA Trump supporters are fed up with being poked at by so many people. Folks online and comedians take tons of pot shots at them for how they treat others. Evidently, it's starting to bother these conservatives how others view them. Additionally, it's one thing to deal with comedians and the broader internet. It's another for Forrest Gump to make fun at their expense on SNL. However, those new conservatives find themselves with a surprising ally: firm Trump critique Joy Behar.

Recently, Joy spoke on The View's side podcast titled Behind The Table where the crew covers things they didn't tackle on the show. There, she coddles conservative Americans who might've gotten their feelings hurt by Tom Hanks' parody and teasing of MAGA truthers. Joy's entire argument centers around the idea of broad generalizations, something Behar takes exception towards in her own life as an Italian.

Consequently, when she sees a bit barbing at modern conservatives, she understands where their outrage lies.

Joy Behar Defends MAGA Trump Supporters in Their Outrage Towards Tom Hanks

Behar tells producer and host of the podcast Brian Teta that she's sympathetic to what MAGA supporters are experiencing. "I don't think it's fair. I think that a lot of these so-called MAGA people were misled by Trump because he told them he would do certain things and he's not doing them, and then he didn't tell them he was going to do other certain things, and everybody knows what they are at this point, and he's doing them," Behar says. "Like renaming places, trying to usurp property around the world that doesn't belong to him."

Ultimately, she feels like SNL and Tom Hanks didn't properly account for those who feel like what they voted for isn't happening. Joy merely tries to account for those who feel sincerely betrayed rather than paint everyone as dumb and ignorant. "I wanted my eggs to come down in price, I wanted gasoline to come down... the things that affect my family. I don't care if you want to own Panama. Why are you bringing that into this? It's a big distraction," Behar says.
