Blake Shelton Reveals What He Has In Common With 70 Percent Of Country Singers

One thing you learn immediately getting into country is the list of things these country artists have in common with each other. It borders on stereotyping but oftentimes, the shoe fits. They love beers and the bar as a whole like it's a religion. The bar lies within the same bounds of holy temples for some people. Additionally, I don't think I've heard a country artist or met a country man that doesn't fall over backwards over their favorite trucks. Lastly, Blake Shelton highlights one other commonality that a strong majority of country artists share with one another.

Recently, Blake spoke with Hook and Barrel for a cover story. There, he largely speaks on his propensity for fishing and hunting as one of his premier hobbies. Moreover, he highlights how beautiful it is that he can share that hobby with so many people trying to cut their teeth in Nashville. "That's the great thing about country music artists," Shelton says. "About 70% of 'em, before I even shake their hand, I can almost guarantee we'll have something in common, and it's hunting and fishing."

Blake Shelton Finds Companionship With Most Country Artists Over Hunting and Fishing

Admittedly, Blake doesn't cop to being the best in the world in either field. However, that isn't really the allure for him either. Rather, it's the challenge and the unpredictability that draws him to the hunting rifles and fishing rods. Maybe he'll screw up, maybe he'll miss out but that's half the thrill of it. "Hunting and fishing is one of those things I'm never going to master," Shelton says. "I'm never gonna dominate the hunting and fishing world, and 99.9% of the time I'm gonna lose. I'm gonna fail. And that's what keeps me hooked."

"There's a love to the mystery of not knowing what's out there, not knowing what fish might be under that log," Shelton adds. "If I don't know what's there, it could be the next world record!"
