Internet Falls For Prank Claiming Adult Film Star Was Pilot Of Delta Flight That Overturned

Social media had a field day with the news of a Delta jet crash in Toronto on Monday. But it wasn't all serious chatter. Some took the opportunity to prank the masses. Namely, a post on X identified Johnny Sins, the adult film star, as the hero pilot who saved the day. The tweet, complete with a picture of Sins in a Delta pilot uniform, claimed he had saved countless lives with only 420 hours of flight experience. The caption read, "Can this hero get a RT?"

While most saw the humor in the post, many didn't. Some questioned the legitimacy of the claimed flight hours. "420 hours is very little," one user wrote. "That's not enough to be rated on multiple aircraft."

The post went viral before a community note confirmed it was satire, generated by AI. Delta, as of now, has not revealed the identities of the pilot or crew involved in the crash. However, the timing of the post couldn't have been worse.

Pilot Faces Scrutiny

This crash was another in a series of aviation incidents that have rocked North America in recent weeks. Last month, a deadly collision between an American Airlines jet and a Black Hawk helicopter killed 67 people. Now, on Monday, a Delta flight crash-landed in icy conditions at Toronto Pearson International Airport.

The footage from the incident shows the Endeavor Flight 4819 skidding across the runway before bursting into flames. Passengers described the chaos. One survivor, Peter Koukov, said they were "hanging upside down like bats" after the plane flipped. Another recalled seeing "a big fireball" during the landing. It was a terrifying moment for everyone on board.

The crash left at least 18 people injured, including a child. Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash, but the dramatic footage from inside the plane shows just how dangerous the situation was. Witnesses described the plane coming in fast, followed by a massive fireball on impact.

The prank post caught many off guard, especially when people began comparing it to the helicopter disaster in January. That pilot, with only around 500 hours of experience, faced serious scrutiny after the crash. Now, some wondered how 420 hours could be seen as "heroic."

In any case, the incident in Toronto continues to be investigated, and the viral post remains a stark reminder of how quickly misinformation can spread, even when it's just a joke. The question remains: did the community note need to be added, or was the prank already clear? Either way, it didn't stop the jokes from flying.
