Kevin Spacey is one of the most controversial people working in Hollywood today. It's deeply disappointing when older actors feel inclined to stand behind him and advocate for his return to film. This is especially the case when there are still active actors like Guy Pearce still impacted by his predatory actions. Initially, the L.A. Confidential actor didn't know how to properly talk about it. Now, he's finally comfortable enough to fully tell his story.

Recently, Guy spoke on the Awards Chatter podcast to promote his role in the Oscar-nominated film The Brutalist. There, he speaks on a myriad of different things but gets particularly emotional when talking about his uncomfortable experiences working with Kevin Spacey. Back in 2018, Pearce was inclined to brush his experience off, that he was lucky to only experience unwanted advances.
"Ah, that's nothing. Ah, no, that's nothing," Pearce recalls feeling. "I did that for five months, and really I was sort of scared of Kevin because he's quite an aggressive man. He's extremely charming and brilliant at what he does — really impressive, etc. He holds a room remarkably. But I was young and susceptible, and he targeted me, no question."

Guy's personal experiences didn't fully resonate until he saw the litany of allegations thrown at Spacey. "I was in London working on something, and I heard [the reports] and I broke down and sobbed, and I couldn't stop. I think it really dawned on me the impact that had occurred and how I sort of brushed it off and how I had either shelved it or blocked it out or whatever. That was a really incredible wake-up call," Pearce emotionally details.
Nowadays, Guy just finds it important to be more honest and candid about his experiences. That way, he doesn't bury it all and act like it's fine. Spacey hasn't responded to the claims Pearce recalls, however, he's always vehemently denied all of the allegations thrown at him in the past.
