Hey, love hurts sometimes.
Anyway, the incident marks a significant departure from his usual holiday plans, as Umansky, 53, was left with a broken clavicle after a dramatic fall on the slopes.
Umansky, who has previously visited Aspen for both leisure and work, shared the details of his accident with his social media followers. In a video posted to Instagram, ski mountain patrol escorted him down the mountain following the wipeout.
Later, the reality star posted a hospital bed selfie, where he expressed his gratitude for the medical staff who attended to him.
"I feel so blessed to be taken care of by such amazing humans," Umansky wrote. "Ski patrol, Paramedics, Aspen Hospital you're all the best. Broken Clavicle."
Ulmansky Thanks Medical Staff
While enjoying the slopes in Aspen, Umansky's accident took a serious turn, ultimately requiring surgery. Two days after the incident, he updated his followers on the outcome of the injury.
"The break was a clear break, and it required 12 screws and a metal plate," he revealed in an Instagram post on February 16. "Thank you ?? to everyone who has reached out. I have felt so much love and support."
Umansky went on to thank the doctors and nurses at Aspen Valley Hospital for their care, and he stressed the importance of wearing a helmet during skiing.
"I was wearing a helmet and that for sure saved me," he said.
Despite the severity of the injury, which has caused a major disruption to his plans, Umansky is optimistic about his recovery. He expressed confidence that he would be back on his feet and back to his usual routines in no time.
Umansky's Valentine's Day accident, though unfortunate, adds to the string of dramatic events that have defined his life in the public eye. Needless to say, his fans have expressed fairly undying support as he navigates his recovery. The show continues to air on Bravo on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST.
No word on whether Umansky's accident will be part of the program.
