Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s impact on racing can't be understated one bit. Behind the wheel, his resume speaks for itself, one of the best to ever do it. However, it's his work off the tracks that he finds satisfaction in today. His JR Motorsports team is more than successful but he's never found his squad at the Daytona 500. However, that all changed during one of the qualifiers, as his racer Justin Allgaier finagled his way into the big race. As you might expect, Dale couldn't help but get emotional.

Recently, Junior reacted to his team securing a spot in the Daytona 500. He's visibly choked up at finally breaking the cold streak of not being able to make it. Dale admits the stakes got to him a bit emotionally but he's grateful regardless. "This sport's amazing, everything about it. I've seen it from so many different lenses, and I love the challenges. I wouldn't want it any other way. This was hard emotionally, but I can't believe that we get to race on Sunday. I just can't believe it," he says.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. Gets Emotional After His Team Makes Daytona 500
Dale looks to change how he and his team are perceived in the modern era of racing. However, Denny Hamlin reckons that there are too many things at play that would keep the Earnhardt family from prospering in racing today. "Dale Jr. and Dale Earnhardt would have never survived in today's superspeedway racing. A, they wouldn't have been as successful because of how superspeedway racing happens today. But then to be told who you can and can't draft with? It's nonsense. But it's the world we live in," Denny laments.
Even if Junior can't prove it behind the wheel, he's hoping to change the perception of how him and his JR Motorsports team operates in modern racing.
