So it turns out that Harper Grace wasn't originally planned to feature on "Live Lonely" with Mason Ramsey, but I'm so glad she did.

Their duet was released a few days ago, and it's been stuck in my head ever since. My favorite part of the song is when they're both singing together, so it's weird to think that Harper Grace almost wasn't in the song at all.
I had the pleasure of talking to both Ramsey and Harper Grace ahead of release, where they shared more details on the song's production. And to my surprise, Harper Grace muscled her way into the track in a move I respect the hell out of.
It turns out that Ramsey and Harper Grace met in London very briefly at the beginning of last year, but met again at CMA Fest, where they got to properly talk. Harper Grace initiated the idea of the both of them writing a song together, and Ramsey liked the idea.
I mean, they are a match made in heaven considering they both had their own viral moments when they were 11 years old.
Although they had agreed to write a song together, "Live Lonely" was not the track in mind for the collab. But Ramsey left the song unattended one day, and Harper Grace pounced.
Harper Grace Sang Over "Live Lonely" When Mason Ramsey Wasn't There
I find this story as hilarious as it is audacious.
Both Harper Grace and Mason Ramsey were in a studio of sorts together, but Ramsey had to go. This left Harper Grace in the studio by herself.
"This was originally just supposed to be Mason's song," Harper Grace told me. "But when he left I sang on it, and I wrote my own verse, and I didn't send him the version by himself. I only sent him the version with me in it," she laughed.
Absolutely brilliant. I guess he liked it, as that's what we've got today.
Without Harper Grace seizing the initiative like she did, then we wouldn't get the hauntingly beautiful duet we have today. But don't fret, for this may not be the last time they collab together.
I did ask them if they were interested in working together again, and they both seemed happy to.
"I definitely am looking forward to working with Harper again and writing more with her," Ramsey said. "I'd love to work with her some more, and just hang out with her more. I think she's just a great girl to hang out with, I really do like spending time with her. I think it's really cool."
How sweet was that? It seems like this isn't the first we'll see of the young prodigies.
