The Scottish Sun reports that a couple, Dawn, 56, and Andrew Searle, 62, were discovered dead in Les Pesquiès, south of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, on Thursday. According to local detectives, their deaths are now being deemed "clearly a homicide."
The outlet also reports that their investigation has led them to believe the couple were struck by hitmen. Andrew's previous occupation as a financial investigator led him to shut down money laundering operations. This may have made him a target.
Callum Kerr is Dawn's son. The 30-year-old Scot produces country music in Nashville, and has a strong following on Instagram of over half a million. Before his entry into country music in 2023 with his single "Tequila Therapy," Kerr enjoyed a main role in British soap opera Hollyoaks and a recurring role in the Fox series Monarch.
His Instagram is "currently run by management" on his behalf, so to allow Kerr to mourn in peace. This shocking case has taken a toll on Kerr, prompting his management to make a statement on his behalf.
Callum Kerr In Mourning After Murder Of His Mother
A post to Kerr's Instagram explained his current need for privacy. "At this time, Callum Kerr and Amanda Kerr are grieving the loss of their mother, Dawn Searle (née Smith, Kerr)."
"No family member is available for media interviews or comments. We kindly request that their privacy be respected during this difficult period. We will provide updates as appropriate. Thank you for understanding," the statement concluded.
The post has restricted comments.
Not many details have been shared about the international case. Authorities are working tirelessly to uncover the plot to assassinate the couple. They had moved to France after retirement. Shockingly, French media claim that Andrew Searle may have been tortured before his death.
The autopsies are to take place on Monday.
I hope that him and his family receive all the support they need during this terribly difficult time.
