Add Parker McCollum To The List Of Country Artists Celebrating Trump's Inauguration

Add Parker McCollum to the list of artists celebrating President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration. McCollum has been added to the star-studded lineup, which already includes Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Rascal Flatts, Billy Ray Cyrus, Lee Greenwood, The Village People and more.

McCollum will perform at The Commander-in-Chief Ball, along with Rascal Flatts. Underwood will sing "America the Beautiful" during the inauguration ceremony, while Greenwood will perform "God Bless the USA." Aldean will perform at The Liberty Ball, along with The Village People and a surprise musical guest.

Greenwood will also perform at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally, along with Kid Rock, The Village People, Cyrus and a choir.

McCollum will likely perform several of his recent hits. One song he won't be singing is the national anthem. The song, notoriously challenging for even the best vocalists, is one McCollum says he will never perform.

"The national anthem is a tough one boys," McCollum says. "You nail it and you get a pat on the back. If you fugg it up, you're absolute toast. I like to think I'm as patriotic as anyone's ever been, I bleed red, white and blue. But I've passed on every opportunity to sing the anthem. Super high risk very low reward."

The Inauguration

Trump's inauguration likely has the most country artists performing for one event. Underwood was the first to speak out about the inauguration.

"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," she says. "I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future."

Rascal Flatts' lead singer Gary LeVox also spoke out about their participation, their first public performance since reuniting.

"I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States," he says. "I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the Commanders' ball and I am so looking forward to it!"
