Ricky Pearsall is a better man than me. I don't know if I'm emotionally mature enough to sympathize with someone who shoots at me. I don't think I'll ever get there either. Perhaps it's a selfish line of thinking but when it's your own life, you can't help but be very protective of that. But the San Francisco 49ers rookie wide receiver is taking the high road. Additionally, he wants to meet and connect with the person who threatened his life to try and understand why.

Recently, Ricky spoke with the local media after the 49ers season wrapped up and they didn't make the playoffs. There, he dives deeper into being shot and lends a bit of sympathy for someone who might've been incredibly desperate.
Hopefully, with one conversation, Pearsall can understand what spurred the decision to pull the trigger. "Yeah I'm curious, but sometimes, you don't have answers for that. I don't know how he grew up so, I can't judge him as a man just based off one action that he made. As violent as a crime as it was, God forbid him doing that to somebody else. I don't ever want that to happen so... just being able to forgive him at the end of the day," Ricky says.
Ricky Pearsall Wants to Forgive The Person Who Shot Him
Moreover, Pearsall also wants to be able to talk to the 17-year-old who shot him for personal reasons as well. It seems like the wide receiver wants to receive a bit of clarity for himself as well. If he can even remotely understand why it happened, he can take the weight of uncertainty off of himself. Maybe Ricky can impact the young kid's life and he can also move on from the traumatic experience. ""I have to be able to forgive him to have that weight off my chest. At some point, I do want to talk to the kid and make sure that, if I can create an impact on him in any way I think that would be really big. I'd be definitely open to doing that," he says
