The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and Vin Diesel had a very public disagreement about the former WWE star reprising his role in the Fast and Furious franchise in 2021. Fortunately, it seems the two stars have made amends if their exchange at the Golden Globes is anything to go by.

Vin Diesel took to the stage during the Golden Globes to present the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement Award. He spots Johnson in the front row and giggles, "Hey, Dwayne." The crowd laughs, as does Johnson. Diesel regains his composure, looks around the room, and continues his announcement. It's a short exchange but a polar opposite in mood compared to the pair's interactions over recent years.
What Actually Happened Between The Rock And Vin Diesel?
While the feud between Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson is common knowledge, it's actually much more challenging to decipher what caused it. Outside of a few social media posts and interviews, we don't know much. According to Pop Culture, Diesel reportedly had issues with Johnson being late and holding up production of The Fate of the Furious, but neither actor has clearly stated this.
However, we do know that an Instagram post by Vin Diesel rubbed the Rock the wrong way. The post addresses Johnson directly and says: "As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in this house." Diesel signs off by saying "Hobbs can't be played by no other. I hope you can rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny."
Unfortunately for Diesel, this triumphant call to arms had the opposite effect at the time. In an interview with CNN, Johnson appeared saddened by the post. "I was very surprised by Vin's recent post. This past June, when Vin and I connected not over social media, I told him directly and privately that I would not return to the franchise."
Johnson continued, "Vin's recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn't like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker's death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding. My goal was to end my amazing journey with this incredible 'Fast & Furious' franchise with gratitude and grace."
