Country Singer Chad Morgan, also known as the 'Shiek of Scrubby Creek,' has passed away.

Chad Morgan's son, Chad Jnr, and daughter, Janelle, announced on
Facebook that he died on New Year's Day. The message reads: "I announce the passing of the Sheik of Scrubby Creek" - Chad Morgan, today 11/02/1933 - 01/01/2025. 91 years young. He is now with his beloved wife, Joanie."According to ABC, the Australian Country Singer passed away in a hospital in Queensland during the evening.
Morgan had an illustrious career spanning 70 years. His first foray into Country Music was back in 1952. According to Country Town, He officially announced his retirement in April 2024.
Chad Morgan was famous for many songs, including 'Shotgun Wedding,' and 'Shiek of Scrubby Creek' which became a stage name. He released more than 20 albums and received numerous accolades, including a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia. Morgan also received the Grant McLennan Lifetime Achievement Award at the Queensland Music Awards in 2018.

Facebook, speaking highly of Morgan, saying:"Just want to pay my respects to Chad Morgan after his passing on New Year's Day, a true country icon who was one of the funniest comedy minds I've ever witnessed on stage.
He was always such an individual that's what endeared him to so many in our industry. The last show is over, old mate, and the curtains are now closed, always leaving them wanting more."
Fans also took to social media elsewhere to celebrate the life of Shiek of Scrubby Creek. @Bradfield1975 tweeted "Another Australian music legend gone... Remembering Chad Morgan, passed away New Year's Day aged 91. RIP Chad.
Another user, @mnxmoosi, said, "F--k. We lost Chad Morgan. 2025 already sux. Used to go see him play a fair bit when I was about 20, and I was always the one he picked out of the crowd to embarrass through the show. Usually hate that stuff, but it was Chad, so I couldn't complain."
