The Democratic former President died on December 29 at 100 years old. On the same day, Yearwood posted to Instagram to share a moment they had together.
Trisha Yearwood and her husband Garth Brooks have quite a history with Jimmy Carter in their joint humanitarian efforts. They have joined forces for numerous Habitat For Humanity builds, working side by side. Yearwood shared one of those moments with her fans.
On Instagram, the singer posted a tribute. "Rest easy, Mr. President. I'm sad for us, and happy for you. Your and Mrs. Rosalynn's legacy of love will live forever. ??." she captioned the photo.
The photo was of Yearwood, Carter, and his wife Rosalyn holding the frame of a home being constructed by Habitat for Humanity. Carter was known for his humanitarian efforts. He devoted much of his post-presidency career to helping others. Even during the later stages of his life, he didn't let that stop him.
Yearwood has disabled comments for her account, so reactions to the tribute couldn't be gleaned. The post has received 23K likes at the time of writing, however.

Yearwood and her husband Brooks have regarded Jimmy Carter as a friend, which isn't something that just anyone can say. To celebrate Carter's 100th birthday, Brooks, Yearwood, and Habitat for Humanity collaborated together on an Instagram post.
"Thank you for inspiring all of us to give more and love more! It's an honor to be your friend. love, Garth and Trisha," they signed off the post.
After working closely with Carter for so long, and actually building homes together, it's no wonder Yearwood has been hit hard by his passing.
