Sad news strikes for this NBA Legend and his family. Recently, Hall of Famer and iconic Detroit Pistons point guard Isiah Thomas reveals that he's been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. Thomas appears on former NBA for ABC broadcaster Mark Jackson and son's podcast. There, they get into the weeds about everything, from modern NBA formatting to college recruiting stories.

However, the second part of the interview sees Isiah speak candidly about his diagnosis with Bell's Palsy. Additionally, he expresses his deep appreciation for their concerns. "I've gotten a lot of love from people saying, 'Well Isiah's sick. What's he going through?'" Thomas says. "And I haven't really told anybody, right? So, I got Bell's palsy, and, again, that's why you see me like this. So, I appreciate the prayers and the love, but that's what's happening with my mouth right now."

The Mark Jackson father and son duo reaffirm Isiah shortly afterwards, emphasizing how great he looks. For the uninitiated, Bell's Palsy essentially alters the nerves and muscles on one side of your face to weaken. Consequently, it can make people look droopy in the face, probably why people felt concern over Thomas. Mayo's Clinic states that this condition can occur at any age and that the causes are still unknown. However, they do speculate that the cause likely stems from a viral infection and the body reacts accordingly.
However, all is not lost here for Isiah Thomas. The NBA Hall of Famer's condition isn't a permanent one and he's currently on the road to recovery. "Symptoms usually start to improve within a few weeks, with complete recovery in about six months. A small number of people continue to have some Bell's palsy symptoms for life. Rarely, Bell's palsy occurs more than once," the site says.
